The Little Book of the Cultural Hijacker

Book design project, part of my MA Thesis.

The design of the book was purposefully planned as a material metaphor of its contents, and to convey a cohesive message. My MA Thesis described the Soita Mummolle –project and reflected on grassroot movements, DIY culture, and critical activities in design. Hence, the book title is embroidered by hand over a fabric cover, and it is partly printed on the distinctive pink paper used in the project. The volumes were hand-bounded and assembled by a skilled local bookmaker.

The book was awarded a special mention of honor and a prize by the Department of Graphic Design, Aalto University School of Art and Design.
